The Houlton Community Chorus will present their annual winter concert of traditional and holiday favorites, Friday, Dec. 18, 7 p.m. at Houlton High School.
The program, under the direction of Rebecca DeWan, features thirty-four singers who will be accompanied by Kyle Green on keyboards and Kevin Mania on drums.
Joyce Fitzpatrick, president of the community chorus, said the concert will be in three sections. The first section kicks off with “Baby It’s Cold Outside” and two more partner songs where male and female voices take turns responding to each other.
The second section includes traditional and folk songs about water including “Take Me to the Water,” at which point the Houlton H.S. Chorus will join in the singing. The HHS Chorus will also sing separately.
Wrapping up the evening of song is a selection of holiday favorites including “O Holy Night.”
Fitzpatrick said a few new singers joined the group this year and she is “looking forward to a great performance.”
Although last year’s storm put a dent in attendance, residents should plan on a wonderful concert as always because “in true community and show biz spirit, the show must go on.”
Admission is free; an offering will be taken to offset expenses.
