Turkey Trot winners

    CARIBOU – A large field of 70 runners and walkers turned out for the 24th consecutive running of the Turkey Trot 5K Road Race, sponsored by Cary Medical Center and held at Caribou High School.
    Thomas Beckum of Caribou led the participants on the course with a time of 16 minutes, 58 seconds. Marie Strouse of Orono led the women with a course-record time of 19:02, which put her second overall behind Beckum.
    Jonathan Kelley of Caribou, Logan Thibeau of Presque Isle, Chris Rines of Caribou and Steve Desmond of Caribou rounded out the men’s top five, while Rene Gorneault of Caribou, Elizabeth Wright of Presque Isle, Jessica Schlagnenhaufer of Bangor and Renee Ennis of Presque Isle joined Strouse in the women’s top five.
    Age division winners were: 19 and under, Thibeau and Wright; 20-39, Kelley and Gorneault; and masters, Herm Condon of Castle Hill and Denise Condon of Yarmouth.
    Betty Deprey of Caribou led all walkers with a time of 46:03. Awards were presented during post-race ceremonies.
