ImageYorke, Claude W., 98, November 28, 2009.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment was held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton. Bangor – Claude W. Yorke, 98, went to be with his Lord on November 28, 2009, with his family around him at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born May 20, 1911, at Victoria Corner, NB, Canada, the son of Percy and Alma (Tilley) York.
    Claude served in the US Army during World War II with the 17th Finance Disbursing Section. After serving, he studied radio and interior decorating. He owned apartment buildings in Boston, MA and Lakeworth, FL, which he found to be his passion. Above all, he was a devoted brother to his family and extended family.
    Claude is survived by one sister, Annabelle Lynds and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Ralph and Charlie York and two sisters, Neta York and Gladys Elliott.
    Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home, Tuesday, 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lorne York officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Claude’s memory to the charity of one’s choice, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, 04730.
