Paid-call Firefighter Jared Willey, 28, is a three-year member of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department. A resident of Caribou, Firefighter Jared, also an intermediate-level EMT, said “it was a tossup between the adrenalin of the fire/EMS service and the smiles on the faces of people we help,” that helped him decide to become involved with the fire department. “My biggest concern however, is the thought of losing a fellow firefighter to the hands of a fire.”     The father of a “beautiful 5-year-old daughter, Samantha,” Firefighter Jared works full-time as a medical assistant for Pines Occupation Health. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, shooting not to mention his favorite food which is steak and listening to rock music from the 1980s.
Firefighter Jared requests community members to remember, “When you see an emergency vehicle approaching with lights and sirens, we simply ask that you pull over to the right and come to a complete stop. If you or a loved one is in need of emergency services we all know that every second counts. Allowing us the right of way can save a life.”
