ELLSWORTH — The second annual Maine Farmers’ Market Convention, presented by Down East Business Alliance, will be held January 29 & 30, 2010, at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast.
The convention begins with a panel on Connecting to Community with Chris Roberts, Barkwheats in Stockton Springs; Shannon Haines, Director of the Maine Street Program in Waterville; and Ted Carter Farmers’ Market Manager in Calais. There will be One-on-One Marketing Material Counseling with Monique Bouchard of Monique Bouchard Designs in Old Town; and Barbara Brady of Barbara Brady Art in Sedgwick. Other speakers include: Dick Dyer, Dyer Associates, Public Relations and Management Counseling in Winthrop Maine; John Harker of Maine Department of Agriculture; and Tessa Burpee, Heart of Maine RC&D. The keynote speaker is Enid Wonnacott, Executive Director of Northeast Organic Farmers’ Association in Vermont.
The 2009 Maine Farmers’ Market Convention took place March 20-22 at Schoodic Education and Research Center (SERC) in Winter Harbor, ME. Nearly 100 people joined us on beautiful Schoodic Point to inspire and invigorate their farmers’ markets.
