Frozen Shoulder (FS) also know as adhesive capsulitis is a disorder with no known cause. It typically causes limited motion of the shoulder and is accompanied with significant pain. People who have breast cancer and have had surgeries such as a mastectomy or lymph node removal are at risk for FS. Common risk factors for frozen shoulder are: female, 40-60 years old, diabetic, thyroid disorders, post menopausal, and surgery of the shoulder area, mastectomy and heart.
Common signs of a frozen shoulder are: painful range of motion with daily tasks; limited motion with daily tasks; and pain in the shoulder trying to sleep at night.
Therapy can speed the recovery of a frozen shoulder. There are numerous ways to manage a frozen shoulder with therapy such as medications, injections and surgery.
