Walking hours
Walking hours at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center through Sept. 30 are 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Game room
The game room is open for youths from 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The game room houses pool tables, ping pong tables, a foosball table, an air hockey table and board games.
Open gym
The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center offers area youth a halfcourt basketball area to shoot hoops from 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Adult volleyball
The recreation department will offer a pick-up volleyball league for area adults on Thursdays from 6:30-9 p.m. This program meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym beginning Oct. 15 and will continue through April 29, 2010. Participants must be out of high school and there is no fee.
Men’s 30 and over basketball
Men’s 30-and-over basketball meets Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.-noon beginning Oct. 13 and running through April 27, 2010. The program is designed for gentlemen 30 years of age and older and meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym. There is a fee of $3 per player on Sundays only.
Men’s basketball league
An organizational meeting for the men’s basketball league will take place Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Department. League dues and rules will be discussed. Anyone interested in entering a team or joining a team must be present. Play is set to begin Oct. 14 and games will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. Call 493-4224 for more information.
Volunteers sought
The Caribou Recreation Department is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the annual Halloween party, slated for Saturday, Oct. 31. Parks and recreation department officials are seeking individuals and organizations interested in providing a game or activity during the two-hour event. Inquiries should be made to the recreation office at 493-4224.
