FORT FAIRFIELD — A driver and her two passengers escaped serious injury, following an automobile accident Sept. 21.
The Fort Fairfield Police Department responded to the report of an accident around 3:40 p.m. on the Old East Rd. Upon arrival, it was discovered to be a rollover.     “Jessica Wasson, 18, (no hometown given) was operating a 2000 Ford four-door, traveling south on the Old East Rd., when she lost control of her vehicle and rolled the car over into a ditch,” said Sgt. Shawn Newell, FFPD.
Wasson had a 23-year-old female passenger and a 10-month-old infant in the car when the incident occurred.
“All escaped serious injuries but the three were examined by Crown Ambulance personnel. All passengers were properly secured in their safety belts,” said Newell.
According to Newell, no charges were filed against the driver. The cause of the accident is believed to be unsafe speed and driver inattention. Officer Brady Henderson, FFPD, investigated the crash. The Fort Fairfield Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
The vehicle was reported to be a total loss.
Newell expressed thanks to the FFFD crew for assisting.
“Kudos to the fire department. They pretty much did everything (to clear the scene) while Henderson and I took off to investigate another incident. We really appreciate the help,” said Newell.
