PRESQUE ISLE — Leisure Gardens and Leisure Village residents enjoy many social activities; however, the month of August was extra special. Residents celebrated National Lemon Meringue Pie Day and National Marshmallow Day.
Planned by Lyndsey Maynard, director of activities, residents celebrated National Lemon Meringue Pie Day with pies donated by many volunteers. The dining room was decorated with yellow tablecloths and balloons, and many residents were garbed in yellow.
National Marshmallow Day was celebrated with a variety of games involving marshmallows including guessing the number of marshmallows in a bowl. Winners of the games were crowned kings and queens. Refreshments included rice krispie squares.
