Cooperative Extension offers canning workshop

    HOULTON — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will be offering two food preservation workshops.  These are “hands-on” classes and will cover water bath and pressure canning, freezing and drying.
    The first class will be held Friday, Oct. 23, at the U Maine Cooperative Extension from 5-9 p.m. in Presque Isle. The second class will be held Friday, Oct. 30, at the Houlton Regional Hospital from 5-9 p.m.
    Pre-registration is required and class size is limited.  Cost for the workshop is $12.50 per person.  Register by calling 800-287-1421.
