ImageBLAINE – George E. Mills, 69, beloved husband of Sharon (Cronkhite) Mills, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. George was born in Vanceboro, Maine on January 8, 1940, the eldest son of the late Robert Frederick Mills Sr. and Pearl Ester (Golding) (Mills) Tuck and Josiah Hale Tuck.  Image
    George was a loving and devoted father to his daughters, Alicia Ann (Mills) Lunney and her husband Paul Lunney and Lynn (Mills) Lowe. George is also survived by nine beloved grandchildren, Marc Anthony Mills, and his wife Marie, Samantha Lynn, Jessi Lee, Mychaela-Alyzabeth Lacey and Cassandra Shaynne Lunney; Christopher Michael Lowe and his wife Amanda, Khyver George, Keeghan Delbert and Khasen Claron Lowe; four great-grandchildren, Alliyah Haley and Cody Louis Lowe and Pearce Ryaan and Norah Alizabeth Mills.  George is also survived by his brother, Robert Frederick Mills Jr., his wife Edie; three sisters, Roberta Jandreau and her husband Milton, Karen Tuck and Brenda Thibodeau; sister-in-law, Gloria McDonald and her family; Carol Brundage, her husband Donald and their family; Afton “Sonny” Cronkhite, his wife Betty and their family; Ricky Cronkhite, his wife Beverly and their family; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many, many beloved friends.  George will also be missed by so many young people who are friends of his daughter and granchildren, who he also thought of as his children and grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by his wonderful neighbors, Dana and Cleo Zaccardi and their family who always took care of his flowers, yard work and snowplowing when he was no longer able to do it himself.
    George loved spending time with his family and friends, he loved the sound of laughter, and George never met a stranger!  He worked for the Aroostook Valley Railroad for many years before retiring as president.  
    Friends called 5-7 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, as well as 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle.  Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
