RE: Caribou’s Sesquicentennial Celebration Parade and Events, September 5, 2009

    The Caribou City Council wishes to extend a sentiment of appreciation and gratitude for all persons associated with the celebratory events within our Community on September 5, 2009. Due to the number of organizations, service clubs, non-profits, businesses, municipal and public safety departments, volunteers and individuals that culminated to make the celebration a success, there is no way to list and thank each of these persons or groups individually. Therefore, the City Council would like to extend their appreciation through the 150th Celebration Committee for providing the underlying organization and leadership that brought all persons together to promote and provide a Sesquicentennial Celebration on September 5, 2009.     The Celebration expressed through the parade, civic organizations activities, business participation, and events were outstanding. The attendance and participation within the Community and surrounding Region was tremendous. The organization and execution of the multiple events of the parade, concerts, community barbeque, speeches and presentations, presiding dignitaries, and culminating fire works will long be remembered. The pride within Caribou was evident as countless persons contributed to the overwhelming success of the day, our 150th anniversary year. Such a chance to celebrate our Community’s founding comes but a few select times. The observation of our founding and community participation evidenced on September 5, 2009 was monumental; to be recorded and remembered for all times.
    On behalf of the Community of Caribou, the Caribou City Council does hereby issue this letter of congratulations and gratitude to all concerned for an exceptional job and one of the most memorable celebrations in Caribou’s history.
