    MOUNT CHASE and PATTEN – John "Bob" Brownlee Sr., 85, died Sept. 11, 2009, in Bangor. He was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Quincy, Mass., son of the late Sadie (Brownlee) Howes.
    He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia (Finson) Brownlee of Patten; five children, Faye Thibault and Stephen Powers of Winterport, John and Charlene Brownlee of Crystal, Fred and Vivian Brownlee of Patten, Violet and Gene Cyr of North Berwick and Faith Joy and her husband, John Soule, of Milford; 12 grandchidren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was predeceased by his mother; and one half brother, Lawrence Howes.
    Friends called noon – 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crystal Wesleyan Church, Crystal, with funeral services  held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Main officiating. Interment was at Mount Chase Cemetery.
