Donna Somers, 75, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009, at her residence. She was born on June 29, 1934, in Millinocket, Maine, and came to Sebring in 1986 from Davie, Florida. In 1987, along with her husband, Bud, they were the founders of Somers Irrigation, Inc., in Sebring. She was very fond of the 4H, the Ridge Area ARC and the agriculture industry.
Donna is survived by her husband Bud Somers of Sebring, Florida, daughter Rhonda Young of Bangor, son Thomas Hyatt, Jr. of Ocala, Florida, son James Somers of Sebring, Florida, brother Stanley "Jim" Morrison of Millinocket, sister Linda Wilks of Levant, and several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Dowden Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. with the Reverend Winfred White officiating. Graveside services will be in the Advent Cemetery, Limestone, on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Ellen Cleaves officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 4418 Sun ‘n Lake Boulevard, Sebring, Florida 33872.
