Caribou Firefighter Troy Haney, 34, has been with the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department for nine years. A Firefighter I and II/basic EMT Haney stated he became involved with the departments “to help and serve all of our community.”     A paid-call member of the CFD, Firefighter Troy is self-employed at his own business, Haney’s Building Specialties. He and his wife Jennifer, with their three daughters, Sabrina, Kirsten and Brooke reside in Caribou.
When not busy with the fire department or at his own business, the firefighter enjoys, racing, hunting and fishing. Lobster is his entrée of choice and his favorite music is Rock n’ Roll.
If given the opportunity to enlighten the community regarding the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department, the Firefighter/ EMT said, “The service of the fire department goes well beyond putting out fires. People may not realize all of the things we (firefighters) support, such as ‘Toys for Tots,’ the Caribou Children’s Discovery Museum, Camp Adventure (for youth and their families afflicted with diabetes), the city Christmas lights and other programs/projects sponsored by the department.”
