There has been some conjecture about the Hotel McKinnon, but the owner of this photograph in 1967, Mrs. Adelaide Doak, thinks it later became the Lyndon House, and even later the Caribou House. It is speculated that the picture was probably taken about the year 1872. The horses came from McNeal’s stables, according to Mrs. Doak. The photographer was on the property of her father, the late George Gallagher, who was engaged in farming for many years. He was 92 years old when he died.
