On Sunday, July 26, Clair Townsend of Jacksonville, Fla. was a caller on his cousins, Charlie Slauenwhite and Miss Wannetta Townsend.
On Saturday, July 18, there was a good turnout for a benefit supper and music for the Rail Fan Days at the Oakfield Community Center.
Toni, Marie and Danny Gillotti of Hodgdon spent a few days recently with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gillotti.
Mr. and Mrs. David Perrin, Caleb and Noah, of Virginia Beach, Va. spent a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Crane. They also visited with other relatives in the area.
Mrs. Myrna Sprague has been a surgical patient at the Houlton Regional Hospital.
On Wednesday, August 5, Mrs. Marie Gillotti and Miss Wannetta Townsend, along with the Oakfield Senior Citizens went on their annual summer trip. They had lunch at Helen’s Restaurant in Ellsworth, then they went to Skeet Point, did some shopping in Ellsworth, had ice cream in Old Town and also did some shopping at the Dollar Tree. Had a great time.
On Saturday, August 8, many people attended the 80th birthday party for Arnold Roach at the Oakfield Community Center.
On Tuesday, August 11, Mrs. Sandi Wyman, Mrs. Marie Gillotti and Miss Wannetta Townsend, along with other purple hat ladies society members, attended a BBQ at the home of Mrs. Peggy Sanders in Smyrna.
On Wednesday, August 19, Mrs. Marie Gillotti and Miss Wannetta Townsend attended Senior Citizens at the Smoki Hauler Snow Club in Oakfield.
Carolee Slauenwhite, son Wade with his wife Summer and daughter Chelsey, have returned home after attending a Yellow Ribbon Family Readiness Program in Las Vegas, Nev. This event was a gift to families of the Army with soldiers en-route to Afghanistan. There they met Spc. Devin Slauenwhite and wife Andrea. They were guests of their sister and aunt, Elena Alden. They were all able to be with Devin and see him off with the 348th Transportation Co., stationed in Phoenix, Ariz.
