Curt Tyler Young, MD is now accepting patients at his surgical retina practice at Vision Care of Maine. Curt is the son of the founder, Craig W. Young, MD of Presque Isle.
The senior Dr. Young started caring for patients in Aroostook County in 1977. This private practice cares for over 20,000 patients. Patients seek the medical expertise of Dr. Young from as far away as New York, Virginia and Florida.
The organization prides itself as a full-service, comprehensive eye care facility. The practice and the private surgical facilities are a unique fixture in central and northern Maine. Vision Care of Maine, clinical and surgical locations are in Bangor, Dover-Foxcroft, Medway, Houlton, Caribou, Presque Isle and Madawaska.
“It is important that our patients receive their medical eyecare in convenient and comfortable settings. A lot of our patients are older and travel in northern Maine can be a safety and cost issue to our patients,” said Dr. Craig Young. “With my son joining me in the practice we now will have a generational continuity of care. And, as a surgical retina specialist he will be bringing expertise locally in ‘The County’ for retina disease, wet and dry macular degeneration and specialized retina lasers.”
Dr. Curt Young is surgically and fellowship trained in New Orleans at Tulane University. He has relocated to Bangor with his wife Kim and is seeing patients at all Vision Care of Maine locations.
