Houlton Higher Education Center summer term classes for workers in transition ended August 14 with more than 20 students commenting on the benefits of the writing, math, computer and science classes just completed. ‘Excellent teachers’, ‘needed more time’ were two of the most common comments from these adults.
After a late-August break, these students will continue with more classes and a goal of a college degree or other vocational credential. College classes begin Aug. 24 and 31.

Computer skills important
Adults who have been out of school for a few years will have the opportunity to learn or re-learn, computer basics in a six-session computer course beginning Sept. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Workers entering college or a new job will benefit from this course in computer basics, Word and Excel. For information, call Adult Education at 521-3100 ext.5.
Enrichment classes
MSAD 29/70 Houlton-Hodgdon Adult Education announces personal enrichment classes in quilting, scrapbooking, fabric painting and knitting beginning soon.
