masardis – JoAn J. (O’Clair) Beaulier, 61 year old resident of Masardis, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at the Mars Hill Nursing Home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. JoAn was born on September 6, 1947, in Ashland.
Prior to her extended battle with cancer, JoAn lived and worked in Berlin, NH, employed by the Coos County Family Health Center, where she was very highly regarded and well liked. She leaves behind many friends amongst her co-workers. JoAn was a member of the Eagles Club in Berlin and a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 279 in Concord, NH where she so enjoyed the time spent with fellow club members. JoAn’s passion in life was spending time with family and friends. She also had a passion for knitting, gardening, flowers, dogs and camping, spending many of her available days doing so with friends and family.
JoAn is survived by her friend and companion, Harry C. Hafford of Masardis; by a son, William Walton and wife Pamela of Tucson, AZ; by four brothers, Norman and wife Lydia, William Jr. and wife Christine of Ashland, Hubert of Fork Union, VA, Armand and wife Janet of Herman; by four sisters, Yvonne “Marie” Gillespie of Horseshoe, NC, Florence Kinney of Vandalia, Ill., Nancy Conley of Mills River, NC, and Catherine Herson of Morrill, ME; by sister-in-laws, Ada “Babe” O’Clair of Ashland, Michelle O’Clair of Fayetteville, NC, and Darla Benson of Portage Lake.
JoAn will be fondly remembered by granddaughters Amanda and Victoria of Tucson, AZ. JoAn also is survived by 44 nieces and nephews, six aunts, two uncles and 74 cousins. JoAn was predeceased by a son, Jason Walton; parents, William and Emelda O’Clair; four brothers, Frederick, Victor, Lawrence, Melvin “Paul” and one sister, Geneva Mary.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the Masardis Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009. Services will be conducted by Patricia Rafford and everyone is invited to attend a reception at the Masardis Municipal Bldg. immediately following the services.
