PVC athletes nominated
    Track and field athletes from Presque Isle and Caribou high schools received the following PVC large school all-conference outdoor track team nominations.     First team: Hannah Saunders, 1,600 Race Walk; Katrina Whittier, Shot Put.
    Second team: Saunders, 3,200 Run; Paige Small, 1,600 Race Walk; Whittier, 300 meter hurdles; Amber Griffin, High Jump; Whittier, Triple Jump.
    First team: Nate Swan, 400 Dash; Finn Bondeson, 1,600 Race Walk; Swan, Javelin.
    Second team: Swan, 100 Dash; Steve Melbourne, 800 Run; Tim Freme, 3,200 Run; Jared Sleeper, 1,600 Race Walk; Caribou (Freme, Sleeper, Melbourne, Jesse Stephens) 4×800 Relay; Jason Johnson, discus; Lucas Richards, javelin.
NHSC Upcoming Events
    The Nordic Heritage Center is holding an intro to trail running followed by restorative yoga on June 23 at 5:30 p.m. Tea and healthy snacks are included for a total cost of $15. For more information or to register, email dominicksarah@yahoo.com.
    Starting June 29 until August 10, NHSC will lead a youth mountain bike program every Monday from 6-7:30 p.m. for youths ages 8-14. There is no cost, but a limited number of rental bikes are available for $5 per class. To register or for more information, call Julie at 764-8160.

Youth hockey needs coaches
    Presque Isle Youth Hockey is looking for adults interested in coaching or helping out with its six levels of youth hockey teams. Boys and girls, ages 4-16, participate in a season that runs from October through March. If you have an interest in getting involved, please email aroostookhockey@yahoo.com.
Soccer Officials clinic in New Sweden
    The Northern Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials will hold a clinic for prospective soccer officials at the New Sweden Elementary School in New Sweden. Bob Stedt will be the clinician.
