Council members vote for special meeting

    During the June 8, regular Caribou City Council meeting, council members voted to hold a special meting to accommodate the signing of a warrant for the pending June 24, Eastern Aroostook School Unit (RSU 39) School Budget referendum vote.     An agenda item for considering a review of information pertaining to the RSU 39 request for transfer of undesignated fund balance pursuant to MRSA Title 20-A,1462(3) was added to the agenda to accommodate the continuing RSU consolidation process.
    A third agenda item regarding the review of information pending budget amendments for the 2009 municipal budget prior to setting the 2009 Mil rate was added in order to provide updated information to the city council for their continued review of pending budget amendments to the 2009 municipal budget addressing recent state revenue shortfalls prior to setting a Mil rate on June 29.
    The council is anticipated to act upon the pending amendments at the June 23, regular council meeting.
    The special meeting on Wednesday, June 17 will take place in the city council chambers at 6 p.m.
