LIMESTONE — Twirling their way about the stage, the Northstar Twirlers held their recital on June 7 in the auditorium of the Limestone Community School.
Mini Marcher Regan Davis showcased some of the new moves she learned this past year during the warm-up routine of the recital.
With each student belonging to either the Tiny Twirlers, Mini Marchers, Star Strutters or Show Stars based on their skill level, all performers received participation medals as they showcased their abilities to an audience of family and friends.
The students showcased various components that make for a talented twirler, including ballet, tap, and pom-pom skills.
It was the last performance for Emily St. Pierre and Mackenzie Beaulieu as students of the Northstar Twirlers; while the two ladies were in the Show Stars class this year, next year they will be junior teachers.
The Star Strutters group included Trinity St. Pierre, Alya Theriault, Taylor Devoe, Kendra Furber, Delaney Rossignol, Freem Cyr, Chelsea Labreck and Dhesorae Labreck — performed a pom-pom routine to “Start the Party,” among other routines.
The Mini Marchers consisted of Alya Theriault, Kourtney West, Kennedy Bencivenga, Sierra Beaulieu, Jenna Roach, Mia Theriault, Annabell Pelletier and Reagan Davis.
Living up to the name of their class, Jayden Fournier and Cadence St. Pierre made up the Tiny Twirlers.
Sharon St. Pierre served as the mistress of ceremonies.
The Northstar Twirlers are co-run by Karen and Jessica Stackhouse. Registration for ladies looking to join the Northstar Twirlers will occur this fall.
Show Stars Emily St. Pierre and Mackenzie Beaulieu performed their baton routine to “You’ve got a friend in me.” The theme for this year’s Northstar Twirlers recital was friendship.

Tiny Twirler Jayden Fournier was so focused on her twirling that she ended up getting a tiny baton bump in the head during the recital. Though she wasn’t happy about the bump, she was well enough to participate in the pom-pom routine later in the recital.
