Anderson, Richard E., 94, New Sweden, at Ocala, FL, June 2, 2009. The Memorial Serivice will be held at the First Baptist Church, New Sweden, ME, June 18, at 11 a.m.

 

    Richard E. Anderson of Ocala, FL was called home by his Lord, Tuesday, June 2, 2009.  He was born February 10, 1915 in New Sweden, ME, son of Herman E. and Helena Anderson.
    He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Elizabeth; having been predeceased by his first wife, Lucia W. Meter. Mr. Anderson is also survived by  daughter, Janet A. Cotta and son-in-law, Rick; daughter,  MaryLu Wellwood and son-in-law, John; son, Richard W. Anderson and daughter-in-law, Sharon, all of West Gardiner, ME; step-daughter, Connie Lee Whalen and son-in-law, Jim of Des Moines, IA, a sister, Helene Ludwig of Titusville, Fl and many nieces and nephews  He was predeceased by step-son, George A. Brown, III, Lake City, FL, and sister, Rosalind A. Sodergren of Stockholm, ME
    Also surviving him are grandsons: Shaun Cotta, Richard Cotta and wife Robyn, Kevin Wellwood, Matthew Wellwood, Zachary Anderson, Cody Anderson, and granddaughter, Lenora Pike. Also step-daughter, Tasha Gould, and step-grandsons, Tucker Brown, Breland Scott, Bradley Scott, and three great-grandchildren, Ingrid and Benjamin Cotta, and Axel Pike. 
    Richard received his Engineering Degree from Northeastern University. He spent 38 years with General Electric as Design Engineer for Aeronautical Instruments.  There were 200,000 8DJH1 Tachometer Indicators built of his design.
    Mr. Anderson served on the Deacon Board of East Baptist Church, Lynn, MA for many years.  After retirement he then served on the Deaconate Board of First Baptist Church, New Sweden, ME.
    The Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, New Sweden, ME, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11 a.m.
    Internment will be in New Sweden, ME.
