Stevens, Christina, 78, June 4, 2009.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.  Interment was held in the Stacyville Cemetery.
    STACYVILLE and PATTEN – Christina Stevens, 78, passed away peacefully June 4, 2009, surrounded by her loving family in Patten. She was born April 19, 1931, at home in Sherman, the daughter of Clement and Helen (Gormley) Dubay.
    Christina attended Sherman High School and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She married the love of her life, LeRoy Stevens Jr., Aug. 20, 1949. She tested milk at local farms for many years and later worked for Rodney Bowers. She was a faithful member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, Ladies Auxiliary, Sherman Area Senior Citizens, RSVP and catered many receptions and dinners in the area. She is survived by a son, Thomas Stevens Sr. of Patten and his children, Thomas Jr. and his wife, Lynda, Chris and his friend, Nicole, Tory and his wife, Terry, Justin and his fiancee, Jessica, and Kayla; a daughter, Barbara Landry of Patten and her children, Paul and his wife, Nicole, BobbieJo and her friend, Steve, Michael and his wife, Crystal, John and his wife, Mindy; a daughter, Patti Bailey and her husband, Steven, of Durham and their children, Kaleb, Kohen, Karleigh-Anne, Jamie and David; 12 great-grand-children, Virginia, Courtney, Colby, Jayden, Kenna, Brenden, Georgia, Mickenzie, Dylan, Hannah, Emmalee and Corey; and a foster child, Nora Socoby and her children, Charlie, Chris and Noah, all of Millinocket. She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Junior; a brother, Richard Dubay; a foster son, Tom Newell; and a son-in-law, George Landry. She was grateful for the wonderful care she received at Mount Heights Health Care Facility and loved all the nurses dearly.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m. Monday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls. A Mass of Christian burial was held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Benedicta. Interment was at Stacyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Height's Health Care Facility Equipment Fund, P.O. Box 140, Patten, ME 04765.
