Mighty Molunkus Family Fun Day a success

    Members of the Molunkus Valley Sno-Drifters held their seventh annual Duck Race on the Mighty Molunkus with an auction and a food sale on May 9. The weather was great, as Rick Long released the ducks while Justin and Jon Allen, Harold Lane and Matt Long followed the ducks down to the finish line, making sure they all got to safety, where Heidi Goodale, Gene Harvey, Jr., Johanna Harvey and Krista White were catching them.

   Roberta Lane had the winning duck, with Frank Cox coming in second; Dan Bridgham, third; with James Mooney placing last. Kim Polk did the childrens’ games where everyone who participated received a prize. Rick Allen from the Sherman Fire Department did the flame game, and each child got a prize along with a fire hat. Chris Allen was the auctioneer with his mom helping him. Also we want to thank all who donated to this event again this year. Club members worked hard for this to happen. The 50/50 prize went to Galen Desorosier, with Addison Heath winning the candy guessing game. She received a duck pail with goodies in it.

    The next fundraiser is the kayak package raffle to be drawn on Father’s Day, June 21. Tickets can be purchased at the Sherman Thriftway or the Town Office.
