Last week, the Houlton tennis teams split with host Caribou, as the boys’ team picked up a 3-2 win, while the girls lost 5-0.
Houlton’s Derek Thomas picked up the only singles win defeating Nick Willey, 8-1. Ashir Abouleish and Zach Harvey suffered 8-0 and 8-2 losses, respectively.
In doubles, Houlton’s Lowell Matthews/Elliot Mooers defeated Ezra Duplissie-Cyr/Phil Smith 9-8 (7-4) and Rudy Ponder/Robbie Stairs won by forfeit.
The Houlton girls faced a tough Caribou squad, which remained undefeated at 12-0 with their win over the Lady Shires.
Hiba Bilal, Anna Caron and Holly Bouvier all fell, 8-0, while in doubles, Sarah Gentle/Kelsey Fitzpatrick were defeated, 8-1 and Stephanie Kreyssig/Lizzy Garcia went down, 8-0.
