Washburn students jump ropes for hearts

A recently held school-wide assembly for the Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart program celebrated 25 consecutive years of raising money for the American Heart Association at Washburn District Elementary School.

Grades 1-8 raised money for the American Heart Association and brought in $12,095.37 in 2008, bringing the 25-year total to an amazing $143,980.01!
The top individual money raisers were Shawn Helton in Jump Rope and Keagan Page in the Hoops program.   Following a Power Point presentation, students received their prize(s) for the amount of money they raised.  A Wii sports” was drawn, as each student who raised $50 had their name entered and Taylor Skinner was the lucky recipient.
