In a preliminary playoff game against Foxcroft, the Lady Wildcats defeated the Ponies at home Monday afternoon 4-1.
Singles: Sarah Porter def. Lauren Kousaie 6-1, 6-1; Brittany Bearden def. Abi Ruksznis 6-4, 6-0; Kailee Ireland def. Lindsey Kousaie 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Doubles: Jen Steeves-Madelyn Carson def. Katie Thomas-Meghan Keane 2-6, 6-1, 7-5; Emma Malay-Jen Seavey def. Lindsay Michaud-Divya Bisht 6-2, 6-2.
With a recent 4-0 victory over Fort Kent, the Presque Isle girls tennis team season record moves to 9-3. The Lady Wildcats hosted the Lady Warriors May 27 but the match was suspended early due to rain.
Singles: Porter def. Jessica Caron 8-3; Bearden def. Carrissa Pelletier 8-3; Ireland def. Becca Martin 8-6. Doubles: Dani Woolland- Michaud def. Roxy Pelletier-Kiera Caron 8-0; Steeves- Carson led Sam Landry-Emilia Stevens 7-1 before the match was canceled.
The Presque Isle boys team is now 11-1 with a 4-0 win over Fort Kent as well.
Singles: Alex Carter def. Isaac Mitchell 8-0; Ben Picard def. Martin Doustou 8-0; Caleb Mathers def. Alex Charette 8-0. Doubles: Chris Cawley-Kyle Gilson def. Alex Chasse-Alex Boucher 8-1; Osman Mendieta-Castro and Jacob Towle led Johnny Lebouf-Lucas Woodward 7-2 before the match was canceled.

SWIPING THE BALL across the net, Wildcat Sarah Porter continues her first singles defeat of Pony Lauren Kousaie. Porter beat Kousaie 6-1 twice as part of the Presque Isle girls tennis team’s defeat over Foxcroft Monday afternoon during the preliminary Class B round of playoffs. The Lady Wildcats head to Ellsworth Thursday to compete in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m.
