Maine Public Service chop through the remains of a gusty wind event on the Hedman Road in New Sweden on May 16.

Recording gusts that reached 55 miles per hour, Clayton Lake saw the highest wind speed in Aroostook County during the May 14 wind event; Presque Isle came in a close second with wind speeds reaching up to 52mph. Winds were recorded reaching 44 mph in Caribou, and 45 mph in Houlton.
Though shingles were torn from roof tops and over a thousand people were without power in Aroostook County, the highest wind speed recorded during this wind event was 66 miles per hours at Beaver Cove in Piscataquis County.
