The Houlton Shiretowners were back on the field after rain delays on Monday with a game in Howland. Houlton trailed 3-1, erasing the deficit in the top of the seventh, with Chris Anderson’s two-run home run and two-run double highlighted a six-run seventh helped Houlton rally by the Howlers for a 7-3 win.

In girl’s action, the Lady Shires were shut out 12-0, as the Howlers’ Casey McCloskey pitched a three-hit shutout in five innings.
Vanessa Sanderson and Erika Lackey each doubled for Houlton.
In Saturday action, the Katahdin Cougars swept host Bangor Christian, 11-1 and 6-3.
The Cougars’ Andy Kay hit a home run in each game, while in the opener, he also singled twice. He struck out 13 Patriots from the mound for the win. Mark McGraw had a homer and double, while Evan McCarthy singled twice to drive in three runs. Ethan Qualey chipped in with a pair of hits.
In the second game, Kay hit a single and a two-run home run for Katahdin, while McGraw doubled and singled and Qualey added two singles.
The Lady Cougars split with host Bangor Christian on Saturday, losing the opener 9-3 before taking the second game in a slugfest, 22-21.

In the second game it was Kali Rush’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh that drove in Kasey Brackett with the winning run. Duffy rapped out three singles, while Krista Adams added a pair of base hits.
The Southern Aroostook Warriors also split with host Fort Kent, dropping the opener 5-4 in the seventh inning before defeating the Warriors 5-4 in the second game.
Jared Soucy’s single in the seventh drove in the game-winner for Fort Kent in the opening game.
Pat Goodall hit a grand slam in the first inning for Southern Aroostook in the opener.
In the second game, Steve Grant had two doubles and a single to bring in a run, while Anthony Diaferio added an run-scoring double.
Last Friday, Central Aroostook split with visiting Hodgdon. In baseball action, the Panthers won 15-5 and on the softball diamond, the Lady Hawks topped the Panthers, 17-12.
Dan Brewer hit a solo home run, a double and knocked in two runs for the winning Panthers, while Kasey Brewer added a home run, single and two RBIs. Mitch Folsom doubled and singled, driving in a run.
For Hodgdon, Dan McGillicuddy hit a three-run double, while Jamie Ryan and Eric Ryan each doubled.
In softball, Hodgdon’s Taylor Hovey hit three doubles and knocked in three runs, as Hodgdon defeated Central Aroostook. Sam Lycette and Haley Quint each singled twice and drove in a run.
For the Lady Panthers, Vicki McIntyre tripled, singled and brought in two runs. Brianna Hartin had a single to drive in two runs and Kristen Long singled twice.IN THE GAME – The Greater Houlton Christian Academy Eagles picked up two wins last week and face an eight-game, eight-day road trip starting Friday.

At Eastport, the East Grand baseball and softball teams were defeated by the Shead Tigers.
The Tigers’ Timmy Barnes pitched four innings of no-hit ball with nine strikeouts, while Justin Lewey worked a scoreless inning, as Shead picked up a 10-0 win in five innings.
The Vikings’ Abe Brittian broke up the combined no-hit bid with a leadoff single in the fifth inning.
The Lady Vikes trailed 6-3 until the Lady Tigers added four runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead en route to a 15-3 win.
Kaitlyn Beaudoin singled twice for East Grand.
Also on Friday, the visiting Greater Houlton Christian Academy Eagles swept Washburn in a doubleheader, 15-7 and 12-2.
In the opener, Jeff Campbell fanned 11 hitters over five innings for the win. Adam Little struck out three over the last two innings.
In the second game, Chad Duff went the distance firing a three-hitter in the five inning 10-run rule.
According to coach John Walker, “There were many offensive stars in both games.”
Zach Straubel hit a huge bases-loaded triple in the first game when the score was tied 7-all. Ryan Campbell had five hits in the doubleheader, while Brandon LaBlonde and Duff each had four hits over two games.
Duff and Straubel each had six RBIs, as did Mackenzie Burns.
“The top of the order guys, Chad Duff and Chris Morin, scored 11 runs, 6 and 5 respectively,” said Walker.
Ryan Campbell stole an amazing nine bases.
This week, the Eagles play eight games in eight days, with a doubleheader at Central Aroostook on Friday.

Against Washburn, the Lady Eagles took the sweep, scoring the winning run in both games in the top of the seventh inning.
GHCA won 14-13 and 15-14.
Mikayla Wiley, Olivia Lee and Kasi Parker all had hits over the two games.
Last Tuesday, Ashland’s Lucas Hafford belted a game-winning three-run homer to overtake the Warriors, 9-6.
Henry Mulligan had tied the game with a run-scoring double for Ashland, sparking a four-run final inning.
The Warriors led 3-1 in the first before Ashland took a 5-4 lead in the fourth. In the sixth, SACS had regained a 6-5 advantage before Ashland’s comeback.
For the Warriors, Cody Robinson belted a two-run home run in the first inning, while brother Tyler, added a solo shot in the sixth.Jaron Gray rounds the bag.
In girl’s action, SACS defeated Ashland, 22-15 behind Sara Crandall’s two singles and double for three RBIs. Liz Goodall added three singles to knock in three runs.
Last Tuesday, Hodgdon’s Ryan Wellington drove in six runs on a triple and two singles to lead the Hawks to a 26-20 win over East Grand.
Hodgdon’s Jake Tidd collected four singles, while Travis Quint tripled and singled twice and Levi Scott hit three singles for two RBIs.
For East Grand, David Cropley doubled and had two base hits to bring in five runs. Abe Brittain and Andrew Gilman each doubled and singled twice. Brittain also drove in three runs for East Grand.
