Pitch, Hit & Run Contest
    Due to a scheduling change at the National level, the Pitch, Hit and Run Contest has been cancelled for this year.
Adult Flag Football
    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting an informational meeting on Wednesday, May 27, for individuals interested in joining the flag football league this summer.     

    The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the recreation center and is open to anyone who is looking to register a team and/or join a team. Games will start in mid August and will end in October.

Community Spirit Day
    Community Spirit Day will take place on Saturday, May 16, from 8:00 am-12:00 pm.  This year’s project is to clean up the public green spaces, including the parks and bike path.  
    Everyone will meet at Riverside Park to pick up equipment and assignments. Please contact Chris at 764-2545 or chrispirec@maine.rr.com with any questions.
Summer Registration
    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will begin registration for summer programs on Wednesday, May 20, for Presque Isle residents.  
    Non residents may register starting May 26.  Registration will take place at the Recreation Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The registration forms are available at the center or online at pirec.org.  
    In addition to our regular programs, make sure to check out our new Mini Tee-Ballers program for children entering PreK and Kindergarten.
Birthday Parties at the Pool and Recreation Center
    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is now hosting birthday parties for ages 4 and up at the Recreation Center in addition to hosting parties at the Indoor Pool.
    The Recreation Center is available Friday and Saturday nights from 6-8 p.m., with one hour of organized gym games included in the rental. Activities vary with age groups, but include wiffleball, soccer, basketball, and kickball. For more information on rentals for the Recreation Center please call 764-2545 or email adampirec@maine.rr.com.
    Please call the Indoor Pool at 764-2564 for information regarding rentals there.

    If your child has had their team picture taken and you would like an electronic copy, please email adampirec@maine.rr.com with your child’s name, sport, and team name.
Parent/Toddler Sign Language
    The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting a parent/toddler signing playgroup Saturdays from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
    The group will meet the first Saturday of each month. This group is designed to teach children basic signs as a means of communication at an earlier age. The cost is $2 per child per session. The group is designed for children up to age 6, but all ages may come and join in the fun.

    THE WILDCATS of Presque Isle came out victorious in the NMCRA Dodgeball Tournament over vacation week. They defeated Caribou three games to one in the championship match. 10 teams from eight communities took part.     BIKE WINNER – Casey Estabrook was the winner of the bike and helmet during the Peanut Carnival. The bike was donated by Dead River Convenience and the helmet was donated by MOJO. Pictured with Estabrook is Pedro Rodriguez, manager of Dead River Convenience.
