The middle school skiing season ended March 20 at the Madawaska High School as boys and girls from Ashland, Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Fort Kent, Limestone, Madawaska, Presque Isle and Union 122 came together to compete in county middle school freestyle meets.

In the girls meet, Caribou finished first by a landslide with 18 points. Fort Kent took second with 65 points followed by Union 122, who had 71. Fort Fairfield was close behind with 78 points and Presque Isle finished fifth at 110. Madawaska’s 147 points was good enough for sixth and Ashland took seventh with 275. Limestone concluded the girls teams with 280 points.

In the boys meet, by a difference of four points, Madawaska finished first at 23 points while Caribou barely fell to second at 27 points. Presque Isle took third with 58 and Fort Kent was next with 74 points. Union 122 came in fifth with 137 and Fort Fairfield was close behind at 153. In seventh and eighth respectively were Ashland at 219 and Limestone at 272.
