PRESQUE ISLE — The local Girl Scouts chapter is holding a fun financial literacy weekend for girls ages 9-11 and their moms (or grandmoms or any other female role models who want to come). The Girls Investing in their Future Today (GIFT) program starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, and ends at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5. It’s a sleepover weekend at the University of Maine Presque Isle, with lunch and dinner included on Saturday and brunch included on Sunday. The cost for the weekend is just $10 per pair, and scholarships are available. It’s open to girls and moms across Aroostook County, so please come if you are interested!
Women, Work & Community will be doing breakout sessions with the moms, and the girls will break out to talk about earning, saving, spending, investing and giving with their peers and local Girl Scout leaders. Everyone will come back together throughout the weekend to talk about money and goals and to have lots of fun! It will be a great weekend.
To register, call Samantha Lott at the Girl Scouts office at 888-922-4763 or e-mail slott@gsmaine.org.
