Maine universities announce fall 2008 dean’s lists

UMM announces fall dean’s list
    MACHIAS – Stuart Swain, vice president for Academic Affairs at the University of Maine at Machias, has announced that 244 students have been recognized as dean’s list students for the fall 2008 semester.     All matriculated and special students who have earned a semester average of 3.25 or better on a 4.00 scale are eligible if they have completed a minimum of six credit hours graded on an A-F basis (excluding developmental courses), have earned no grade lower than a C and have received no missing or incomplete grades.
    Those making the fall 2008 dean’s list include: Patricia L. Craig, Ashland; Laura Louise Long, Blaine; and Lynnelle M. Lavway, Mapleton.
UMF announces fall dean’s list
    FARMINGTON — University of Maine at Farmington is proud to announce its dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester. UMF maintains a dean’s list each semester for those students completing a minimum of 12 credits in courses producing quality points. A student whose grade-point average for the semester equals or exceeds 3.8 will be listed with high academic achievement. A student whose grade-point average for the semester is less than 3.8 but equal to or greater than 3.5 will be listed with academic achievement. Any incompletes must be satisfactorily completed before the student is honored with dean’s list status. Academic achievement awarded at commencement is based on all course work taken at UMF.

UMaine announces dean’s list
    Recently the University of Maine recognized 2,667 students for receiving all As and Bs in the fall 2008 semester. Of the students who made the dean’s list, 2,263 are from Maine, 348 are from out of state and 56 are from foreign countries.
