PICK-UP STICKS — A few dozen logs landed in an empty field at the entrance to Green Street off the Bangor Road after a local logging truck spilled its load on the turn into the street on March 22. The driver, Tony Brown and his young son, Dakota were uninjured in the mishap and there were no other vehicles involved.
Driver, Tony Brown was on his way to Woodland with a fully loaded logging truck, but decided to stop by a friend’s house before making the trip. Brown turned east onto Green Street from the Bangor Road when the rear wheels of the trailer hit a hard ice packed snow bank. Instead of plowing through it the trailer was lifted up. It was just enough to roll the truck onto the driver’s side and dump the load of logs into a vacant lot.
Fortunately there were no other vehicles involved and Brown and his son Dakota, who was a passenger, were not hurt. They both were transported to Houlton Regional Hospital as a precaution.
It took most of the afternoon to load the logs onto another truck and remove the wreck.
Houlton Police Officer Jared Sylvia said, “There would not be any citations, it was just an accident.”
