Winter winds & warm weather

    Strong winds and relatively warm temperatures affected The County on Sunday and Monday as  a warm front pressed across the state, according to the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Caribou.  Unseasonably high temperatures were recorded on Sunday afternoon in central and southern Maine; Caribou saw a high of 39 degrees at 3 p.m. late Sunday afternoon. The highest temperature recorded in Aroostook County was in Dickey, which saw 55 degrees on Sunday afternoon.
    High temperatures however, were met with high winds as a cold front caused strong gusts to sweep  Aroostook County. High gusts ranged from 35 to 55 miles per hour. The highest winds recorded, 55 mph, were in Caribou.
