Caribou – Charlene M. Rowe 82 died December 28, 2008, at Van Buren. She was born in Machiasport July 1, 1926, the daughter of Victor and Clara (Colbeth) Pettigrow.
Mrs. Rowe was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church and was a member and past president of the Henry B Pratt Post 15 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs Rowe was a loving, and devoted wife and mother. She was predeceased by her husband John E. Rowe in 1984. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Rowe of Caribou; Three sisters, Jeanie Caler of E. Machias, Edna Hatt and her husband Irvin of Marshfield, Edith Babbs of Florida and Judith Nutter and her husband Robert of E. Machias. Several nieces, nephews and two special family friends Sammy Day and Charlene’s “second daughter” Mary Ellen Field both of Caribou. Her special “feline granddaughter” Princess.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008, from the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Rosser, officiating. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou. Following the service, all are invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments at Home Farm Apartments community building.
