ACAP Health Services partner with Micmac Service Unit

PRESQUE ISLE – Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) Health Services (formerly HEALTH 1st) will begin offering family planning and reproductive health services to Micmac women at the Micmac Service Unit at 8 Northern Road in Presque Isle, two mornings a month.

    Aroostook County ActionProgram (ACAP) Health Services (formerly HEALTH 1st) will begin offering family planning and reproductive health services to Micmac women at the Micmac Service Unit at 8 Northern Road in Presque Isle, two mornings a month. Services will include health history, physical exam, risk reduction and contraceptive education. Services will include health history, physical exam, risk reduction and contraceptive education. These services will be provided by Cheryl Sue Olmstead, women’s health nurse practitioner, who has 12 years experience providing family planning services in Aroostook County.
    In addition, with prior approval from Micmac Service Unit, Micmac women will be able to access these services at one of ACAP Health Services Family Planning offices in Houlton, Fort Kent and Presque Isle.
    Aroostook County Action Program provides the people of Aroostook with services and programs in the areas of health, nutrition, child and family, energy and housing, and employment and training.
    Micmac members may make an appointment with Cheryl Sue by calling the Micmac Service Unit in Presque Isle at 764-1792 or at ACAP Health Services Family Planning offices in Houlton at 532-5303, Fort Kent at 834-3513, and Presque Isle at 768-3062.
