PRESQUE ISLE – Employees of The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) recently raised over $3,700 at a silent auction to support the United Way of Aroostook’s Fuel Assistance Program. This year’s auction, the ninth annual event of its kind held at TAMC, was the most successful auction to date.

Throughout the month of November, employees bid on 65 items donated by TAMC departments and individuals. Items at the auction included a family movie night basket, homemade quilts and paintings.
“The United Way funds countless local programs that our friends and neighbors count on every day,” said Steven Poitras, senior vice president of plant operations and risk management at TAMC and a board member of the United Way. “Supporting the United Way of Aroostook is vital because many people will struggle this winter to put fuel in the tank. As an organization, we’re proud of our employees’ contribution to this worthy cause.”
The Aroostook Medical Center is a member of EMHS, an organization committed to combining the resources and leadership of our members to help sustain services in our communities.
