Swim team falls behind MDI

    The Presque Isle swim team lost to the state champion MDI and Hampden Academy on December 19 at Bar Harbor YMCA.  
Individual  result were:
    The girls 200 medley relay A team: Allison Young, Karrie Brawn, Erica Hemphill, and Dara Raymond fourth (2:23.20) and B team Shae Alder, Desiree Higgins, Emilee Currie and Rilee Elliott-Currie sixth (2:35.33).     The boys 200 medley relay with Matt Dunn, Stephen Goulet, Cameron Winter and Kyle Gilson took fourth (2:14.38).
    In the boys 200 yard medley Winter placed third (2:56.17).
     In girls 200 yard freestyle Higgins placed fifth (2:55.88), Divya Bisht sixth (3:12.85) and Ashley Burlock placed 12th (3:53.03).
    In boys 200 yard freestyle Ethan York placed eighth (3:15.70) and Aaron Biggs  seventh (3:07.92).
    In girls 50 yard freestyle Hemphill placed first (29.71), Brawn third (30.00), Raymond sixth (31.98), Elliott tenth (32.53), Alecia Palmer seventh (38.20) and Burlock twentieth (49.64).
    In boys 50 yard freestyle Gilson came in fourth (28.13), Warren Zubrick sixth (30.87),
Dunn fifth (29.88), Lucas Richard twelfth (33.15), Dustin Graham fifteenth (38.64), Joshua Allen  seventeenth (40.69) and Drew Long nineteenth (51.82). In boys 100 yard butterfly Winter placed fourth (1:22.08).
    In girls 100 yard freestyle Young placed second (1:07.30), E. Currie tenth (1:12.38) and Alder placed sixth (1:09.27).
    In boys 100 yard freestyle Gilson placed fourth (1:04.13), Jordon Francke placed seventh (1:21.18), Zubrick placed eight (1:21.97), Aaron Biggs placed tenth (1:22.23), Ethan York placed twelfth (1:24.80), Richards placed thirteenth (1:26.09), Graham placed fourteenth (1:42.46), and Long placed fifteenth (1:52.04).
    Elliott-Currie placed fifth in the 500 yard girls freestyle (7:41.20). Goulet placed third (7:53.78) and Locke Robbins placed fourth (8:38,57) in the boys 500 yard freestyle.
    In the girls 200 yard freestyle relay, the A team with Hemphill, Young, Brawn and Alder placed second  (2:02.21) and Currie, Raymond, Bisht and Higgins placed fifth (2:16.10).
    In boys 200 yards freestyle relay Gilson, Dunn, Francke, and Zubrick placed second (2:02.12), and Winter, York, Allen and Biggs placed fifth (2:28.93).
    In girls 100 yards backstroke Alder second (1:23.97) and Allison Young third (1:24.03).
    In the boys 100 yards backstroke Matt Dunn placed fourth (1:10.26).
    In the girls 100 yards breaststroke Brawn was first (1:28.54), Bisht fifth (1;45.36), Palmer tenth (1:37.88) and Higgins eleventh (1:48.44).
    In boys 100 yard breaststroke Goulet placed first (1:27.50). In girls 400 yards freestyle relay Raymond, Elliott-Currie, Palmer and Bisht placed fifth (5:29.77).
    In the boys 400 yards freestyle relay York, Zubrick, Goulet and Locke Robbins placed fifth (5:19.31) and Allen, Biggs, Francke and Richards placed sixth (5:52.25).
