The NMCC Foundation recently received an anonymous donation of $2,952 for the purchase of slides for the Anatomy and Physiology Class. With this generous gift, instructor Greg Thompson was able to purchase 24 sets of 25 slides, which will give students a more hands-on approach and also supplement their textbook material by allowing them to examine actual images. The slides range in topic from epithelial tissues and spinal cord images to bone fragments. Here, Thompson demonstrates how one image of spongy bone can be projected onto the classroom screen. He also plans to have the slides available to his students for individual use with microscopes.
