PRESQUE ISLE – Net proceeds from a recent seminar hosted by Advantage Payroll Services in partnership with Chester M. Kearney, CPA’s will be used to support the work of the Northern Maine Community College Foundation to assist county students in accessing higher education. The $2,100 donation was recently presented to NMCC Foundation Board Chairperson Richard Engels by Advantage vice president of operations and NMCC alumnae Heidi Graham.
The seminar, held last month at NMCC, was attended by more than 50 employers, organization employees and individuals that currently use QuickBooks® software. Presented by QuickBooks ProAdvisor Mary K. Williams, CPA, of Chester M. Kearney, the seminar included working with bank accounts, entering sales information, receiving payments and making deposits, analyzing financial data, working with inventory, and many other topics.
According to Sherry Miller-Thibodeau, director of development for Advantage Payroll Services in Presque Isle, “We are finding that our clients want more and efficient ways to process payroll. Therefore, we are pleased to be able to interface with most QuickBooks software. Once our client has had their accountant set up their general ledger chart of accounts, we then can provide a diskette that will allow the payroll information to be posted with a keystroke. It’s that easy!”
“We are most appreciative of the longstanding and continued support of Advantage Payroll for the work of the NMCC Foundation,” said Engels. “The company is a leading example of a business that serves this region and appreciates the importance and contributions of NMCC to the workforce development of the county.”
