On Nov. 16, following the church service at the Whittier Congregational Church, a luncheon was served in the vestry to say good-bye to Pastor Michael Kasevich and wife, Linda. The luncheon was prepared and served by members of the Women’s Fellowship group. Several people from the Bangor Seminary attended this luncheon, along with many from the area. Michael and Linda are moving to Missouri where he was accepted as their minister. I am sure they will make as many friends there as they did here.
Sam Sewall will be in Scarborough with daughter, Gail and husband, John Kennett for Thanksgiving. He plans to fly to the West Palm Beach area to be with his daughter, Cheryl Connaly and husband, Peter, who have recently bought a place there.
Flocks of birds have been landing in my area a lot lately — think most of them are starlings. I finally saw a gray squirrel in one of my feeders. I haven’t had any red ones yet; maybe the black cat has gotten them all. He sure likes to hide near my cedar tree and try to get all my little chickadees and nuthatches. I shoo him off when I catch him at it.
The deer haven’t been around lately, but I put out old bread in case they show up. Don’t think they have been killed off, as this year it is bucks only. I did have a sighting of a buck the other morning in my back yard—first one I’ve seen in ages.
