Fifteen members of the New Sweden Extension recently met at the home of Francine Anderson.
Members discussed the New Sweden School climbing wall along with the Train the Trainer program that several members recently attended in Presque Isle. The group decided that meetings for 2009 will include these programs with training and demonstrations and the theme for the 2009 fair was discussed as well to be presented at the County Meeting.
The election of officers was completed with Arlene Plourde and Bonnie Weatherhead named at co-presidents; Donna Cyr, vice-president; Lou Skidgel, secretary; Carol MacKay as vice-secretary and Betty Grant, treasurer.
The majority of the meeting was spent completing the 2009 program schedule. Extension members presented readings for the Eye Opener. Everyone was reminded that the Fall County meeting will be held Nov.1, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center, with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The Nov. 18, will be held at the Covenant Church at which time members will work on craft projects and wrap Christmas gifts for residents at the Limestone Manor.
Anyone interested in joining from any of the surrounding towns are encouraged to contact Bonnie Weatherhead at 896-5811 or Arlene Plourde at 896-5756.
The New Sweden Extension meets the third Tuesday of each month.
