Youth basketball programs offered
The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department will be offering two youth basketball programs this winter — Tykes basketball for grades 1-2 and Peewee Basketball for grades 3-4. Registration flyers have been distributed throughout the Houlton area schools or may be picked up at the Houlton Recreation Department.
Deadline for registrations is Oct. 31.
This program will have weekly practices and games. Cost for each program is $25 for Houlton residents and $35 for non-Houlton residents.

Halloween Carnival set for Saturday
The Houlton Recreation Department will hold its annual Halloween Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 1-3 p.m. at the Houlton Recreational Center. Toddlers through Grade 6 are invited to this fun event. Youngsters may wear their costumes and must be accompanied by an adult. Cost for this event will be $3 per person.
