PRESQUE ISLE – The Aroostook State Park will be the site of Halloween fun this weekend, with visitors invited to come out and walk through the ‘Haunted Woods.’    “Come join the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce and our friends at Aroostook State Park on Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25, between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. to walk the Haunted Woods,” said Theresa Fowler, executive director of the PIACC.
A number of activities are planned to entertain young and old alike.
“Local storytellers will be on site to entertain you by the fire, should you decide not to face your fears,” Fowler said.
Refreshments will also be served for a small fee, made available by the Wintergreen Arts Center.
“Coffee, hot chocolate and snacks will be available for purchase, should you need a little something to calm your nerves,” said Fowler.
Admission to the park is $5. Children under 10 pay just $3.
Fowler said transportation will be provided from the parking lot to the cook shelter where guides will be lurking about as they wait to escort you through the Haunted Woods.
“Don’t forget your flashlight, as it will be completely dark in them there woods,” said Fowler.
And the woods aren’t the only place you may see the unexpected.
“Oh yeah, keep your eyes on the lake. Rumor has it that there are pirates looking to come ashore,” said Fowler.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the PIACC.
