Insurance women honored

    Local Maine affiliates of the National Association of Insurance Women International, recently held their State Convention in Ellsworth. At the weekend’s banquet, awards and scholarships were given out. The Insurance Association of Greater Houlton is pleased to announce that new member, Amanda Dunn, branch manager of the F.A. Peabody office in Lincoln, was the winner of the Maine State Council Rookie of the Year Award!
ImageROOKIE OF THE YEAR — Amanda Dunn, branch manager of the F.A.Peabody Insurance Co. in Lincoln received the Maine state council Rookie of the Year award presented at the state convention for the National Association of Insurance Women International in Ellsworth.
    Dunn joined IAGH last year and has shown enthusiasm and dedication to the organization. She is always willing to help out with different committees and always brings creative ideas to the table. Amanda has worked in the insurance industry since 2001 and carries Property and Casualty, Life and Health, and Security Sales 6 licenses. Of her membership with NAIW, Dunn has said, “The National Association of Insurance Women is an association that benefits me by benefiting other community members and businesses with my motivation and involvement to becoming more successful, knowledgeable and willing to give to others.”
ImageRECEIVE AWARDS — Local Maine affiliates of the National Association of Insurance Women International held a state convention in Ellsworth recently. Scholarship recipients were: Dawn Nickerson of the F.A.Peabody Insurance Co. of Houlton, president of the IAGH, who received $250 towards achieving her Property and Casualty license; Heather Caston of Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland who received $300, and Amanda Dunn, manager of the Lincoln branch of the F.A. Peabody Insurance Co., who received a $300 award for courses to obtain her Certified Insurance counselor designation.
    In addition to winning Rookie of the year, Dunn also received a $300 scholarship which will go toward her courses to obtain her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.  Fellow IAGH member and current President, Dawn Nickerson, received a $250 scholarship to contribute towards achieving her property and casualty license.
