Caribou – Harold G. Gagnon, 66, died October 10, 2008, at his Caribou residence following a long illness. He was born in Caribou, September 5, 1942, the son of the late Dennis Sr. and Odianna (Caron) Gagnon. He was a graduate of Caribou High School and was a longtime member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He married Mary Lou Gagnon July 13, 1964. Mr. Gagnon was employed by the Birds Eye Division of General Foods, Colby Starch, Potato Service and for 22 years at McCains. Harold was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and he was a very skilled carpenter. He loved children and always enjoyed the company of his many nieces and nephews who always kidded that they had him wrapped around their fingers.
Surviving in addition to his wife Mary Lou of Caribou are a brother and sister-in-law Dennis Jr. and Jeannette Gagnon of Caribou; three sisters and two brothers-in-law Pearl Davis of Mustang, OK, and Rena and Charles Hutchins of Wentworth, N.H., Shirley and Benjamin Labobe of Caribou; four sisters-in-law Bridget Gagnon of Mass., Bonita Gagnon of North Carolina, Mary Brooker of Newport and Marie Wasson of Fort Fairfield; a brother-in-law Charles Huston of Caribou. Mr. Gagnon was predeceased by two brothers Gilman and Gary Gagnon, two sisters Lorraine Huston and Joyce Gagnon and a brother-in-law Raymond Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Very Rev. Jean Paul Labrie, pastor officiating. Interment took place in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Gagnon may do so through the Jefferson Cary Foundation Oncology Clinic.
