Heath, Dana P., 83, October 7, 2008.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.  Interment to be held in the Patten Cemetery.
    PATTEN – Dana Philip Heath, 83, died Oct. 7, 2008, in Houlton. He was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Patten, the son of Vinal and Mayvilla (Willett) Heath.
    Dana bought a farm on the Waters Road in 1949, where he grew potatoes, then had dairy cows, and finally started a Christmas tree farm, which he grew trees for more than 50 years, selling trees through 2008. He also worked for Atlas Plywood, Katahdin Creamery as a manager, which was bought by Grants Dairy where he was also manager. He had survived an accident in 1979, which had crushed his chest. Philip was a 50-year member of Katahdin Lodge No. 96 AF & AM of Patten and Scottish Rites Valley of Bangor.
    He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie (Ivey) Heath of Patten; four children, Gloria Heath of East Machias, Dana Heath II and his wife, Letty, of Richmond, Peggy Rae Bouchard and Wayne of Sherman, and Christopher Heath and Angela Roy of Crystal; grandchildren, David Richardson, Tracy Boyce, William Bouchard, Brandy Bouchard, Evangeline Austin, Marjorie Heath, Megan Grooms, Hope Rose Heath, Forrest N. Heath, Faith Fox and Edward Fox; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Abigail, Noah and Josephine Boyce, Rebecca and Gaebriel Bouchard, Elijah, Brynne and Kiara Austin, and Elia Fox; one sister, Patricia E. Heath of Corinna; one brother, Carroll E. Heath of Patten; and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church with a Masonic service to begin 7 p.m. by Katahdin Lodge No. 96. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the church with Steve Richardson officiating. Interment will be at Patten Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
